instruction manual for RADIANT R2K 28 boiler english pdf

The {field 5} {field 20} condensing boiler is a boiler in which water vapor from combustion products condenses, thereby recovering latent condensation heat and consequently achieving greater energy efficiency.

In fact, traditional boilers only utilize a part of the sensible heat from the combustion fumes because it is necessary to avoid the condensation of the fumes, which would cause corrosive phenomena. The water vapor generated by the combustion process is then dispersed into the atmosphere through the chimney, along with the associated latent heat.

For air intake/exhaust, specific conduits and systems for original condensing boilers as prescribed by the manufacturer, resistant to the attack of condensing acids, must be used. The flue pipes must be installed with an inclination towards the boiler that ensures the reflux of the condensate towards the combustion chamber designed to collect and discharge the condensate. Should this not be possible, it is necessary to install systems capable of collecting and conveying the condensate to the drainage system at the condensate stagnation points. It is necessary to avoid stagnation points of condensation in the combustion product evacuation system, except for the baffle of the possible siphon connected to the evacuation system. Regarding the condensate, its recovery by the user is forbidden; generally, stagnation points should be avoided. Collection in tanks and use for watering plants is also prohibited.

Adjustments and errors of the boiler {field 5} {field 20}

On the control panel of the condensing boiler {field 5} {field 20}, you will find all the operating information. In particular, the two symbols for tap and heating can be changed by repeatedly pressing the central button (not shown), these two symbols help you understand if the boiler is in Summer or Winter mode. These two symbols flash when the boiler is engaging in serving the specific function.

Normally, the boiler shows you the delivery temperature, you should interpret this temperature as the internal temperature of the boiler. Because of this, you will see the temperature rise even in summer when the boiler {field 5} {field 20} is producing hot water, while in winter it can be interpreted as the current temperature of the radiators

Through the + and – buttons on the left for heating and on the right for domestic hot water, you can choose the desired temperatures for heating, which we suggest:

  • From 45°C to 60°C if you have cast iron radiators
  • From 55°C to 65°C if you have aluminum or steel radiators
  • From 25°C to 38°C if you have underfloor heating

Instead, regarding domestic hot water, you can choose the temperature through the + and – buttons on the right, which we suggest:

  • A temperature between 38 and 45°C

The general advice about the temperature of domestic hot water is to keep it as low as possible if your water supply is very hard (above 30°F).

Errors and Notifications

We describe the most common errors of the boiler {field 5} {field 20}:

  • Error E18: Insufficient circulation, the boiler {field 5} {field 20} checks the flow of technical water circulation, the magnetic filter may be dirty to the point of preventing the circulation of the system, clean it. Otherwise, contact the service.
  • Error E03: Flue side thermal fuse interrupted. This is an error that concerns the flue side thermal fuse, contact the service.
  • Error E04: Lack of Water. Check the pressure gauge in the center of the boiler {field 20}, if the needle points to a value less than 0.8 bar, this error appears. To reset the error, act on the filling tap placed underneath (usually cylindrical and black) to bring the pressure back to about 1.5 bar, the error is reset automatically and the display will show the inscription F33
  • Error E01: Flame blocking, can happen when the gas meter is replaced, the error is resettable through the R-button. Otherwise, contact the service.
  • Label F28: Beginning of Anti-Legionella treatment, The boiler enters this state: Half an hour after power has been supplied and all subsequent weeks at this time and this day of the week from the first power supply. The treatment involves heating the sanitary water up to about 60°C, so be careful of the risk of scalding. You can decide the best time for this treatment by turning off the boiler late one evening; subsequently, the internal counter of the condensing boiler {field 20} will perform the treatment once a week in the evening, allowing the boiler to dispose of the temperature by the following morning.
  • Label F33: Normally displayed after restoring the boiler’s pressure {field 5} {field 20}, consists of the air vent cycle. The boiler commits to venting the air circulating within the technical water, this procedure lasts about 2 minutes.

Heating Issues

From our experience, most of the problems encountered with the thermal appliance {field 20} can be solved by changing the batteries of the room thermostat or by checking the pressure. It is also good to try resetting the boiler, with the reset button, as per the instructions. Indeed, there may have been a recent change of the gas meter, or the general gas valve has been closed, so check if the burners ignite correctly and eventually purge the air.

Then move on to checking the room regulator:

  • Have you used rechargeable batteries? rechargeable batteries do not have sufficient amperage for operation.
  • Has the heat request icon appeared? Try to enter manual mode and raise the requested temperature.
  • If your room thermostat has reference seasons, make sure that the winter mode is correctly selected
  • You can perform a test by raising the temperature at the room thermostat, especially in the fall when the outside temperatures are not too low, it is common for the radiators and.or underfloor heating to be cold.
