Magnetic Sludge Filter Features
This magnetic sludge filter is well suited for apartments up to 120 square meters and is an indispensable accessory for radiator systems, whether cast iron or aluminum. The MG2 filter is made of quality materials and comes already equipped with a tap for cleaning. In the package, you will also find brass extensions that allow you to distance the sludge filter from the intricate connections of the boiler with the system.

Benefits and Features
- The tap of the RBM MG2 magnetic sludge filter: allows you to completely isolate the filter from the system during cleaning.
- The ring: Ensures the filter is secured to the container.
- The metal mesh: Separates the coarse particulate matter.
- The magnet: Captures the fine particulate matter.
Installation Guide
Installation under the boiler is simplified by its squared construction. The filter should be installed on the return pipe of the heating system. Use plastic gaskets for the stop while using Teflon or Loctite tape for the threads.

Maintenance and Cleaning
The tap of the RBM MG2 magnetic sludge filter allows you to completely isolate the filter from the system during cleaning. You can thus maintain the system under pressure and operate without completely emptying the pressure.
Requirements for starting the cleaning of the filter
- Equip yourself with a basin or a bucket
- Also take some rags
- Turn off the boiler
MG2 filter cleaning procedure
The plastic tap under the MG2 magnetic sludge filter allows you to isolate the system, but if you have difficulty in extracting the filter, you can keep the plastic ring slightly screwed and open the tap a little to facilitate extraction.
Dismantling
Proceed as follows:
- Place a basin under the filter
- Close the plastic tap of the MG2 filter
- Unscrew the plastic ring by a turn
- Open the tap slightly and then close it
- Unscrew the plastic ring completely
- Extract the filter by rotating and pulling it
At this point, you will see that it is possible to easily remove the filtering net, clean it. Notice there is a plastic separator that can be removed to move the magnet away and facilitate cleaning, remove it and clean the piece under running water.
Reassemble everything
Now reassemble everything:
- Replace the plastic separator in the door with the magnet taking care to respect the entrance tooth, in general, it should not be forced.
- Replace the metal mesh perfectly in level so that it fits well.
- Insert the door complete with all the pieces at the entrance of the filter: take care that the net is perfectly in level
- When the door is perfectly inserted, screw the ring all the way
- Slowly reopen the plastic tap and check that there is no dripping
- Dry everything and only after that turn the boiler back on
- Check the boiler pressure and if necessary restore the pressure

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about the RBM MG2 magnetic sludge filter.
Can the RBM MG2 Magnetic Sludge Filter clean the entire system?
No, the MG2 sludge filter protects the boiler from particulate matter moving in the heating system. The filter is mandatory for every new boiler installation to protect the primary exchanger and generally the components of the boiler.
Indeed, after washing the system, new dirt can always form, especially in systems with cast iron radiators/convectors.
If the system is not treated with cleaning liquids, the dirt will still remain encrusted in the radiators/convectors.
